Most All Gauges out of calibration/NOT on zero

Does anyone know a solution to gauges advanced? My tachometer is advanced (RPM rest at 14), gas runs out just before ¼ of a tank on the gauge, water temperature off, oil pressure gauge rest at 20 and battery shows a minor charge when vehicle is shut off. However, the speedometer/odometer is fine. Hey, something has to work right!!!

Interesting problem. The speedometer is mechanical so it's not affected. If all the gauges are affected, it usually is an electrical problem. The newest Vette I have is a '77. The gauges are all on one printed circuit and ground is critical. If the ground is loose all gauges don't work properly. My Chevelle had that problem. All gauges read a bit higher than normal. It was a loose connection to the printed circuit. I'm assuming that your car is an older model. If it's computer controlled, that would be a different issue. Good luck! Idon't know about the rest, but for the gas gauge, it is possible that the float may stick or hang up on the front side of the gas tank. My 82 did the same thing. I replace the sending unit (over $300) and it did the same thing. When I figured out the problem I put a slight z-shaped bend on the float arm to make it essentially shorter and now the gauge reads perfect since the float no longer catches on the back of the fuel cell.
