C6 2007 vette 6 speed convertible

Help.. If this car is not driven in a couple of days the battery goes dead. It has gone back to the machanics at the dealership and they just say its a common problem with these new Covertte's. That I will just have to live with it. The car was just purchased early this year. I love it, but not if I have to charge the battery every other day.. Can you help me figure out what is causing power to be drawn from the battery? What should they be checking? Steve/Angie Staley

I have a 2012 Grand Sport convertible, (do not laugh too hard, it also happened to a Club member) I got LOCKED INSIDE THE CAR! Got in, the seat went to my wife's setting so that I am pinned by the steering wheel and nothing else would work! Had to sit freezing for three hours so wife could pull the tag in the trunk! The damn battery just would not take a charge, it seems that these batteries just have way too much drain on them. Got the new charger set-up from the Corvette Museum. Had my dealer install this harness ( post to neg ground on engine block, post to postive on battery, and into wiring harness) this runs through the vehicle and is mounted by the rear license plate. I have a new battery maintainer from Eastwook. NO more problems. Now I can keep the clar all zipped up, hood closed, in my "Car Jacket". Get this harness from the Corvett Museum! The new Eastwood batter charger is absolutely fail-proof! Richard L. Hammon on 2/11/2013 3:29:40 PM
When purchasing my Vette the dealer told me unless the shifter was placed in reverse when i park that the battery would drain, Im guessing it works as a battery isolation switch. I have only had mine a short time and always place in reverse so I have not yet had to deal with a dead battery Chris Mason on 5/7/2012 5:28:47 AM
I assume this was addressed a looooong time ago - but my problem was resolved by having the dealer turn off the fob reception on the passenger side. I also use the battery tender when not in use for a long time - e.g. 2 weeks+ - all winter (now). Otherwise, its been awesome! nelkem on 1/9/2010 7:06:48 PM
I HAD SIMILAR PROBLEM, PRIOR OWNER (3500 MILES ON CAR) HAD A LOJACK INSTALLED, WAS WIRED FOR POWER VIA TRUNK ETC. POWER SOURCE, COMPUTER KEPT TELLING SYSTEM THAT THE TRUNK OR WHAT EVER WAS OPEN. TOOK OUT THE DAMN LOJACK AND NO PROBLEMS SINCE. ORIGINAL SELLING DEALER KEPT SAYING IT WAS THE BATTERY, PUT IN NEW ONE AND PROBLEM CONTINUED. OFTEN DEALERS RELY ON THE DIAGNOSTICS AND NO COMMON SENSE. PETER. Peter Heckmann on 9/4/2008 1:58:34 PM
I have gone through 3 batteries on my 05 MN6 in a 12 month period. I had the Reflash done at the dealer, #PIC3589C. The 05 MN6's are known for the DBS (Dead Battery Syndrome) Then I got a battery tender from the Corvette Museum for around $60. I have not let the car sit without the battery tender, so I do not know if the reflash fixed the problem. But no problems in the last 3 months since the battery tender. It is a weekend car and has been a flustrating ownership experience because of this issue. Other than that the car is great. When you park the car put the shifter in reverse and that will probably solve your problem. Chuck Berge on 10/19/2007 5:23:14 AM
