I'm trying to adjust the solid lifters on my LT-1. A lot of the valves feel spungy. Anybody have any ideas why?? The car has 139,000 miles on it. I am using the John Hinckley and Duke Williams method to adjust the valves. Andy

That is a complex procedure that is best left to a pro or someone with infinite amounts of time. I have always adjusted them with the engine running like we do other engines with solid valve lifters. But apparently that is not the issue because you are talking about soft feeling lifters??? Solid lifters shouldn?t feel soft. Could it be that someone has replaced the lifters with hydraulics or something else weird? Don?t really know what to tell you on that one. Sorry but soft feeling and solid lifters don?t usually fit in the same sentence.
