Ron Fellows Signature Z06 2007

Ron Fellows 2007 Z06The release of a new “Ron Fellows Championship Z06” Corvette has been announced. According to GM Racing and Chevrolet Motor Division, the Ron Fellows ALMS GT1 Champion Corvette Z06 will be the first in the marquee’s history
This special signature-edition car will be distinguished by unique interior and exterior appointments and will be offered only in limited, predetermined quantities. When all cars built are sold, the Ron Fellows Series will be over.
Chevrolet general manager Ed Peper told the press, “Ron Fellows is a part of Chevrolet’s racing heritage who has been instrumental in the remarkable success of the Corvette Racing team in the American Le Mans Series. The special signature-edition Z06 model that bears his name will forever link him to one of the greatest eras in factory racing, which has produced six consecutive ALMS GTS manufacturers championships.”
The specially-equipped production model will mark Fellows’ run of championship performances with Corvette Racing in GT1-class competition. The cars – right down to the door handles — will be painted Arctic White and accented with racing stripes on the fender, plus Ron Fellows’ autograph.
The front fender graphics resemble those on the Corvette GT1 race car. They feature double Monterey Red Metallic stripes with Machine Silver borders and Fellows’ autograph in Victory Red. Call-outs will show the years when Fellows dominated racing. There is also a maple leaf logo motif to recognize Fellows’ Canadian heritage. The entire red-overwhite color scheme represents the Canadian flag colors.
This special Corvette Z06 will be the first signature-edition car in 54 years of Vette production, as well as the first highperformance Z06 model to come in Arctic White. Production of just 399 copies is scheduled with approximately 300 for the United States, 33 for Canada and 66 for other export markets.
The car will include a number of custom exterior cues such as a full-width racing spoiler and a unique windshield banner. Additional standard equipment includes the well equipped 2LZ package and chrome wheels. Special interior appointments will be comprised of red seats, a red center console, red door panels and a red instrument panel; a red leather-covered armrest with a Corvette-signature ldquo;cross flags” logo (hand-signed and numbered by Ron Fellows); and Chevy’s “Tech Pattern” interior trim.
Ron Fellows helped test and develop the first Corvette C5-R race car and recorded the team’s first win in 2000. He was ALMS GTS class champion in 2002 and shared that position in 2003-2004. Fellows has been a part of all six consecutive ALMS GT1 manufacturers championships for Chevrolet. He was also voted the most popular ALMS driver in 2004-2006. Fellows also drives a NASCAR Nextel Cup Chevy Monte Carlo SS race car and competes in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series. He has three NASCAR Busch Series wins, 19 SCCA Trans Am wins and took the GM Player’s Challenge championship in 1989.
The new signature edition Z06 will be available with a $77,500 window sticker, including destination charges. There will only be two options for the car — OnStar and a navigation system dash; which will cost $79,945 when fully equipped.
